Due to coronavirus infection across the country, the government has decided to stop public transport for a total of 9 days (including Eid days) from 5 days before the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha and 3 days after the Eid.

A letter has been sent from the cabinet department to the concerned ministry and department with instructions in this regard.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has admitted receiving a letter of the directive.

“We have received a notification to stop public transport five days before Eid and three days after Eid,” the state minister said at the start of a meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday to determine the course of action, including launching ferries, steamers and ensuring the safety of passengers. We will take action in that light by holding a meeting. ‘

The state minister said, “Those who want to go home on Eid have to go five days before Eid.” Those who want to come must come three days later. ‘

The country will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha or Eid-ul-Adha on July 31 or August 1, subject to the sighting of the moon in the month of Jilhaj.
